i have friends paying 1500-2000 in nanshan area and those apartments are decent. one of my friends rents out an 85sq m apartment with 3 BR in futian for about RMB2000 per month. thats a very good price but expect to pay a bit more.... 3500 will be more than enough. |

How about utilities? like water and power? I believe the amount includes this too.
I understand that there is some deposit and advanced payment? How many months?
Would appreciate if anyone can help me further. Thanks for your information.. |

Deposit is usually two months' rent. You'll also need half a month's rent for the real estate agency fee. Ask about building management fees (depends on the size of the apartment). Utilities will vary depending on what you have and how much you use it.
In Futian, you can probably find a nice place for less than 2,500/mo. There are might also be some cheaper places that are decent. |

Yeah even in a decent apartment in a good area I was only paying 3500 after security and verything. Be prepared to pay 2 months deposit plus rent. So you will need about 10,000 to get started. You can always try and negotiate to 1 months deposit. |
