I'm doing some research for an eventual employment in Hong Kong. I just wonder if there's anyone here who has experience from teaching in HK.

My qualifications are the following:

Education:

MD in Education

Work experience:

6 months in Stockholm, Sweden. Swedish middle-school.
Classes: English, Geography, Arts, Swedish, Science.

2 years of teaching in Beijing.
Subjects: English.

Age: 28
Nationality: Swedish

Any information appreciated!

Well, if you want to teach Swedish, I'd say your chances are fairly good. If you want to teach English, not-so-good. Even if your English is 100% native equivalent of a Brit, you won't be recognized as such on paper.

I don't think it's the case that you have to be a native English speaker to get English teaching jobs. Certainly not at private language schools, and I have a feeling that there are some non-native English teachers on the NET programme and/or at the big international schools.
