Of course, I have heard about the culture course and also read all the moaning from foreign teachers (probably exaggerated).
I used to teach in Thailand from 2005 - 2007, just before they started to implement these new requirements and experienced some of the annoyances people mention here about teaching in Thailand (I learned to tolerate them and just 'go with the flow'). I am wondering how tolerable are these new regulations and are existing foreign teachers gradually abandoning ship and heading toward other 'more professional' countries?

No problem for me at all. The new laws just made the system even more corrupt. I got a stay of execution for 500B, good for a year. Next year I'll get another I bet.
There are fewer and fewer white people getting teaching jobs in Thailand. L2s are more accepted nowadays. They earn less and get along with Thais better. |
