Over the summer we had our balconies (front and rear) double glazed. One unexpected and welcome bonus is that we no longer hear the Ramazan drummer(s) in the wee small hours. How do other people cope with this early hour disturbance (especially those of you in Istanbul) during this particular annual event?

The drumming (and they chant something too but not really loud) wakes me up, but doesn't really disturb me for some strange reason. But that's just me.

I find the lovesick cats, which sometimes sound like babies and sometimes like demons (demonic babies even), to be far more disturbing, generally.
