i'm looking to find a job in the far far eastern part of turkey, like Van or Kars. Erzurum is about the furthest west i'd like to go. does anybody have any suggestions? i've tried writing to the english departments at the universities in each of those cities, though i'm not sure i sent my cv to the most appropriate people at the universities. i can't find anything online about private language schools or dershanes.
anyone know anything? or have any idea about just teaching privates in that area?

Aydin Dogan University was pretty easterly. I actually just bumped up a post to a teacher there (dunno if he's still there) so you may be able to get info that way. They hired through EF. I didn't like Kelkit but I do have my OH I WISH I WERE THERE days. They were always short of teachers and had a lot of runners. It wasn't that bad though. Sometimes.

Oh, and we got a number of offers from Diyarbakir, not sure which schools though but check online and they are probably hiring.

My old boss in Kayseri is now running a language school there and asked me if I knew anybody looking. Pretty much all included, it sounds like- don't know the salary. He was a good man, and I'd recommend working with him. It's half an hour by bus to Cappadocia Smile

(Randomgirl, if you are who I think you are, I'll see you at my birthday next weekend and can give you info then if you want)

Try Academy School of English in Diyarbakir if your paramount aim is to teach.
