I've a question. I want to get a one-way to Bangkok and an onwards ticket to Cambodia, leaving ten days later. I've tried contacting a couple of airlines (Gulf and Kuwait Air) about their restrictions, but they haven't responded yet. Has anyone arrived into Bkk lately with a one-way ticket? I'll definitely have an onwards when I land, and I'm wondering if that's good enough to get the visa on arrival.
Thanx

Just get your travel agent to print you a fake ticket out of Thailand, easy!
They rarely check, they have never checked me at all and never had a problem, but on the safe side now days, I just keep a fake ticket handy.

It's doubtful that you'll get a straight answer anywhere as Thai immigrations restrictions on one-way tickets are applied randomly. I have been here a few times on a one-way ticket with no problems. I think officially you need a departure ticket or a non immigrant visa when entering the country. I am guessing that an onward flight to Cambodia may suffice.

from the US i recently booked a one way ticket to BKK through airfare.com ($794.00) and then booked a one way ticket from BKK into PP through airasia for $80.00. this shows an onward itinerary. i don't plan on using the PP ticket though, just got it for entry purposes. i probably didn't even need the onward ticket to PP as i will enter thailand on a 3 entry tourist visa. better safe than sorry. good luck.

I ended up getting a round trip to Bkk, but I'm only using that town as an entry port anyway. I fly on to PP a few days later (and this time with only a one-way -- I'll see how that works. Air Asia once flew me to China on a one-way. I had no fuss at the border. I just hope they won't bitch at the Subarvinni airport that I'm flying to Cambodia in this manner.) It all used to be a lot simpler last time I was in Asia, but things have clearly gotten stupider at some borders....or maybe I'm just reading too many scare stories out of TOA and Thorn Tree.
I was going to look for esl work in Thailand, but I've changed my mind. I don't like what I'm hearing out of that place. Heck, I'd rather go back to Vietnam (yuk!). Shows you how worried I am about my old Siam.
Best all,
Herz
