I know that the news looks bad for the USA, but at least there is a growing transparency, and CEOs are either quitting or getting pushed out. |
In USAnia there is overwhelming personal household debt, insane financial sector debt and out of control public debt; this Hank Paulson/citicorp "bailout" plan moves financial sector debt into the public debt account. That is all.
It does not erase any debt.
It does not provide for more transparency. ("Oversight" from the politicians? )
It is just another scam by the ruling class in that country. A windfall for the speculators.

I must agree with Serious_Fun. The current crisis is particularly grave because _everybody_ in all sectors of the economy has been spending money they don't really have for so long. Sooner or later there had to be a day of reckoning, and now it's here.
I sure am glad I haven't gotten myself into debt .... |
