My only experience in this area is what EF does.
EF contracts usually say they will pay for a return ticket in the first year, then a one-way ticket to Indonesia in the second year. Maybe you could negotiate for them to pay a one-way for the first year, and either a return ticket for the second year (if you renew your contract) or another one-way (if you don't).
If that doesn't work, get a return ticket with a 12-month validity and flexible return date. Then, some time after it becomes possible - usually, it's 11 months or 353 days with most airlines - change the return date to when you really want to go. Finally, be sure to keep a couple of leave days spare at the end of the contract; this will allow you to return a bit less than a year after you arrive. |
