I'm thinking of moving to the States to get a Masters in a year or so. My preferred destination is Atlantic City or there abouts. Now, I don't know a lot about Atlantic City, isn't that near New Jersy? (I'll be moving there because I have relatives in the area)

Can anyone recommend a reasonable school/college. I'm not American so will have to pay a premium for tuition I imagine. But, are there scholarships for foreigners?

T'anks for any answers Very Happy

Atlantic City is fine if you plan to gamble. The only school I know of in NJ (other than Princeton of course!) is Rutgers, the state university, and you can Google it to see if they have a M.A. in TESOL. Otherwise, you're probably going to be commuting to New York City, where there are some (expensive) M.A. programs.

I doubt if you could get a scholarship. A teaching assistantship, maybe, because that's who teaches the undergrad ESL population: the grad students. Check the New School University--a friend of mine used to run the ESL teacher training program there, and at one point they had a practicum in Poland.

Thanks for the info Fraup. I think Princeton might be out of my price league (amongst other things).

I'll be sure to look up Rutgers and maybe a few unis in New York. Smile
