Hey all.Me and my Gf (Turkish) are currently thinking of moving to Izmir and I was wondering what the living and working conditions are like there, especially for ESL. I currently have been working for 3-4 years in a private school in Istanbul and life here has been getting a bit too hectic for our tastes. Shocked
More specificaly, if you could share any info on working conditions in private schools (K12 and high schools) and private universities in the city, and a salary range would also be helpful as this is not something you could ask directly to an employer. Any tips on where the best places to work are etc.

Try the English Academy or UKLA. There's another school called Lighthouse as well.

If you work in any of those places you will earn peanuts! If you are used to K12 schools then stick with them,at least you may get some real teaching done. You do get paid as well.

Yes, I reckon K12 schools or Private Universities are the way to go. Don't really wanna go back to Dersaneland...been there, done that, etc etc. Where do you rekon are the most comfortable places to work? ( Dersanes not included).
