Ok sorry to dredge this topic up again. The reason I do so is I think this board in particular has some great posters with some excellent insight.

That being said, I plan on returning to Jpn in March as an ALT, not sure where. BUT prolly to the Inaka or a small city ie Okayama or Matsuyama.
I was at Kansai Gaidai this year for a semester. There I did get some dates, but I don't like short time dating, so it was always casual. Plus it is a language college, so in no way was I around typical J-girls.

My question I have is; meeting Japanese girls outside of Gaidai. How and where is it done? Not that I am pressed to get laid or to date. But I am planning being there for 2 years to get me to 2ndkyu level Japanese. And I can go without dating for 2 years, but I'd rather not. Nor do I like to "hook up"(did I just paid myself into a corner?).

My Japanese is 3kyuish. I can speak pretty well. I just think that especailly at first I would not be able to speak very indepth about anything. So should I just wait it out, and get my Japanese to a higher level? Or will I live a lonely sad existence (I did date a girl who I know her parents would've been mad at her for dating a gaijin) and I should abandon hope now?

I am no pick up artist, nor do I wish to be a charisma man.I'm pretty genuine, and I am ok, not great with women. I guess what I am rambling about is that I really don't look forward to being super isolated, especially if the the J-women will have nothing to do with me.

Should I go with plan B and just date a Newhalf that can't date Japanese men=)

If you are "not pressed to date", then I don't see why you start a thread that asks how to get dates.

Let it happen. Hunting for "J-girls" is pointless, IMO, and pretty predatory.
