Hello. My husband and I (along with two children) are looking to relocate to the UAE next fall (Aug 2009). After reading the posting on this website and several others, I still don't know where I fit in. Some background info:

1. Have 8 years teaching exp middle/high school level in the US
2. Advanced level certification in health education.
3. Certification as assistant principal (have informal exp as an AP, but no formal experience.)
4. BA in health science, M.E.D. in Educational Leadership
5. Teacher mentoring experience
6. Summer-school/After-school Coordinator experience
7. Curriculum writing (health) experience
8. My current position is a Coordinator of a nationwide program to assist students to prepare for college (AVID). As a part of the position, I monitor the students, the teachers, and the overall program

My Husband

1. BA in English, MA in Liberal Studies
2. Four years teaching experience in middle school-reading/language arts
3. Certified as an English/Language Arts teacher

Here's the problem- I realize that my husband will have no problem finding employment. Should we try to just find a position that would allow him to sponsor all of us?(and wait to we arrive to find employment for myself). Or is it possible for me to market my experience into a position beforehand? If you suggest that we wait until we both have a job, where should I look? A lot of companies (Al-Ghad, Cfbt) already rejected my qualifications.

Visit the Higher Colleges of Technology "hire-in-site" emplyment webpage and look at the job listings. I think that you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I didn't see this webpage under the employment page. Could it be someplace else? Do you think a CELTA will increase my marketability given my current education, certification, and exp.?

I'd say you have a better chance than your husband with your health qualifications.

HCT AD and CERT have big health/nursing programs that you would surely qualify for.
