Hi, I am currently working in Korea but as a result of the fall in exchange rate am now making very little money and considering moving to Taiwan. Can anyone tell me can I apply to public schools all year round, that is public elementary schools. I have a job in a senior public high school but they are saying because it is a SENIOR school I must pay 20% tax for the first 6 months while my research tells me that all public school teachers salaries are tax free.

Do you have a license to be a teacher? I mean one that would allow you to teach back home!

If they are telling you to pay 20 percent then you don't have a legal job with a school. As far as I know, if you work for the Board of Education you don't need to pay taxes. I am not sure about private elementary and high schools.
