Hi

I apologize if what I'm about to write has been posted many times before, I'm simply too tired of searching forum after forum for a few answers which are hard to locate.

Okay. My situation.

Currently I'm teaching in Tokyo, but I got a feeling I'm gonna be sacked soon. So I'm planning for my next move in Asia, because if I do get sacked I can't afford to stay in Tokyo jobless, it too expensive. My plan is to head over to China, living is cheaper and plenty of jobs apparently.

So I've been apply for jobs for the past week, I haven't received much replies and when I do it's some bs like 2000 yuan per month deals, because I don't have a degree or teaching qualifications and i'm not white.

I just want to know where in China would be a good place to start ESL work, where there are opportunities to get work as a 'British born Chinese' and they won't offer a next to nothing salary.

I don't have much time left...
I'm pretty sure that I won't have a job at the end of February 2009.
So that's why I really need to find a job now.

Thanks for all help in advance!

Merry xmas n happy new years to you all~~! ! !

If you want to work in a private school then they pretty much hire all year round. If you are looking for work in a public school then now is the time to be applying for a February start.

Just a quick question to you, if you don't have a degree how did you get a working visa in Japan?

on a working holiday visa.
it's great, the process is simple and you don't need a degree.

Thanks for your reply.
