Hi,

I want to take an MA in applied linguistics and TESOL starting in Sept/Oct 2009/2010. I teach in Germany, full time, so I'd have to do it distance learning. I'm 32 now, so I guess that makes me a 'mature' student, even though I hate to admit it! I was wondering if anyone knows of any source of financial support available (European Union, British govt, German govt? etc) or tricks or tips to make it as cheap as possible...

If anyone can recommend a particular university to do it though I'd be interested: there are a few possibilities in my home town but if I'm going to do it by distance learning then I'm open to ideas.

Thank you!

Take a look at the University of Leicester.

The course is a breeze to get through.

As well, it's accepted by British organisations.

And you don't have to tell the students or local administration that you got it online while chowing down on noodles and bai jiu while cranking the Clash. Wink

Yupperz,

I did somelthing simlar.

Also rolling in dough now!!

is there a sticky anywhere with a good list?

Any sites that compare based on cost? I just wrangled a university job and cut my teaching hours and got a raise, so now sounds like a good time to enroll and get to work on a MA.

There is a forum here on Dave-s about training, you could try there, the MA topic comes up a lot.
