The above is all very well, but such rhetoric is common parlance in the promotion of just about any MA TESOL or Applied Linguistics course I've ever laid eyes on. Idea

If you search this board, you will see that ADU has had a very difficult beginning. Every once in awhile someone comes on here and says that things are better... but that is relative as it is still an employer that people would do best to avoid. So, I don't think I would want to do an MA there.

AUS has had graduates of its program and I have talked to teachers who work with them and they say that they are good teachers. (thus far, all I have heard about have been non-Westerners) But, I expect that it is not cheap... and you would need to be closer to Sharjah.

If you want to work in the schools, you are correct that online MAs are not accepted by the Ministry of Education. BUT, if you want to teach in the universities, the Ministry of Higher Education does accept them.

So, it depends on which level you want to teach, but I think I would avoid ADU as yet.

I think that you can get an M. Ed. in TESOL (or something of the sorts) from Deakin U. (Aust.) in Abu Dhabi...and, if not, very little travelling to Dubai. But, as I came signed, sealed, and delivered, I've really never paid attention to the (paper) posters.

I know what you mean - I asked bout the masters offered by Deaken University it is offered by HCT but as i asked about the program it is not accredited and they are yet waiting for the accreditation before they accept new students.
What do you think if it is accredited? should i go for it?
I want my masters to work at University level, i asked in HCT today they say that the ministry does not accept masters on line program

I cant go to Dubai i have a baby. Does any university in Dubai gives a study program on line and the exams at the university that i can manage. tnks

My goodness, I am sorry to be self-righteous, but if you seek a master's in TESOL shouldn't you show a little love and respect for the English language to even an informal forum for English instructors? Certainly, telegraph style is acceptable; I assume you were in a hurry, but add to that the constant run-ons, comma splices, lack of possessive-case punctuation, subject-verb agreement error and a misspelling... I don't see how it takes any more time to write prose without all the errors.

I'll be the first to admit I've been castigated for being a "grammar Nazi." Perhaps it's my background as a journalist before I fell into the ESL/EFL "profession."

This is not meant as criticism reemmalak, but how do you propose to do an MA in this situation? distance or not... you will either have to neglect your baby or your studies... two bad choices.

Perhaps you need to put this idea off for a year or so until your baby gets a bit older. But, perhaps that is your plan and you are just looking at ideas for the future. (watch out for English teachers... they can be so critical of language errors Laughing

)
