When I was researching Peru, I was told about some good expat sites:
http://www.livinginperu.com
http://www.expatperu.com
Do similar sites focusing on Mexico exist?
I've found a number of sites about living in Mexico, but none that are quite like what I'm looking for. |

www.mexconnect.com has been around for years and has many regional forums built into it, along with other resources and articles. There is still a free trial period, I believe, allowing you to browse all the forums and articles. Be careful to watch the dates on articles in the archives as you may find outdated information and not realize it. |

I was a paying member of MexConnect for a couple of years and found the members (many of them retirees) very helpful and knowledgeable about many aspects of life in most parts of Mexico, though not so much about Mexico City. |

If I remember correctly, Mexconnect is about $30.00 a year. You do get a lot of information about MANY different parts of Mexico. |

Yes, it's still $30 US a year, but if you want to try it for just a month or two, you can pay $5 a month to start. The information provided by its members is focused more on those areas of Mexico where retirees from the US and Canada tend to settle, like the Lake Chapala region, for example. That's why there's not much information on the D.F. since most retirees can't imagine living there! |

How about blogs?
I like this one about life in Buenos Ares.
I know of a number of Mexico-focused blogs, such as Living In Mexico, and Guy's blog, but I have yet to find something in the format of suitcase on wheels. I like that the author writes specifically about different aspects of life in Buenos Ares, rather than do what most bloggers do, which is write about their own lives, only revealing such things as a consequence of that. |

Blogs written by people living in Mexico that focus more on life in Mexico, as in, "in Mexico, this (i.e. dating, working, whatever) is done this way" as opposed to on the writer's personal life "today I blah, blah, blah" which is how most blogs are written.
Don't get me wrong, I would be interested in good blogs that take the latter approach, but I'm more interested in those that take the former.
I linked to a blog that I thought was the former, but upon further reading, appears to blend the two approaches, in my previous post in this thread. It's about life in Buenos Ares, and I really like it and would love to find similar blogs about life in Mexico and Mexico City. |

How about David Lida's blog, which is mostly about Mexico City?
http://davidlida.com/?page_id=4
He also has a book (linked on his blog) called First Stop in the New World all about Mexico City. I've ordered it myself, due in soon (I hope). |

It sounds like you would enjoy Julia's site http://www.home-sweet-mexico.com/ She tells it like it is in a very forthright, yet entertaining manner. Julia is a teacher from the USA, married to a Mexican and who has lived in Mexico several years. She has written a cool e-book called Mexico: The Trick is Living Here. The second edition is now available. |
