Hello everybody, sorry if a question like this belongs in a different section of the forum but im new to Dave'sESL and not sure where everything is yet.

Im looking to go away sometime around April/May this year to do an in-class TEFL course in Costa Rica, but the vast choice of companies with which to do this with is a bit overwhelming Shocked I wondered what people on here think is the best company to go through in order to do a TEFL course? Is there one that is generally considered the best? Like Celta and Trinity are the big names in certificates, are there big names in terms of companies with which to do a course through?

My ideal course would be one that is taken abroad (im in England and my prefered destination is Costa Rica). Ideally they would also be able to set me up with a job afterwards. Some sites imply that they will guarantee you a job placement after you complete the course? Is this a normal feature or is it too good to be true as it kind of comes across as?

Fees, travel and accomodation are not an issue for me as Im fine for money, id just like to get the best package offered by a TEFL company? Can you recomend one?

Thanks for any help.

To the list of big, and good, names in TESOL certs, I would certainly add the School for International Training. (SIT.)

You can check out their programs at www.sit.edu.

There is an SIT TESOL certificate course in Costa Rica; if you need contact details, pm me.

Best,
Justin

Would second that, the SIT TESOL course in Costa Rica is excellent. I am a SIT TESOL trainer so I'm naturally a little biased but I am not personally connected to the site there in any way. I did train on one course there and I will say that it's incredibly well organised and the location is fantastic. You are in a tiny village, almost in the jungle, and all around you is the amazing Costa Rican nature. Sloths in the trees, hummingbirds in the garden....it's very exotic Very Happy
