Not surprisingly, money and stability seem to be recurring themes - neither one a strongpoint of the TEFL profession. So far in this thread, the posters who have had kids seem to be the ones who've found either or both.

Money confers financial stability. Might not confer other sorts, but it does help!

The city we're looking at does have an intl school, but only pays 900 usd a month

Hmmmmm- What kind of benefits have they got?

The way I've been looking at it, if one of us got work at an international school, provided that it gave a substantial tuition break, we'd be good to go. ($900 a month ain't bad if it also saves you $500 a month on tuition. What about health insurance?)

Best,
Justin

Probably half tuition, health care at a reduced costed, paid vacations. I'll see. Honestly, If I had my way, I'd be a stay home mom and just work 10 hours a week.

OOOOH! Me too! ME TOO!

If there were any way I could afford to be a stay at home parent, I would be SO MUCH more convinced about having kids.

Regrettably, given both earnings and biology, if one of us did get to stay home...it wouldn't necessarily be me.

Best,
Justin
