Can I get a money order here from a bank in US or Can funds and send it by courier or whatever quick mail they have??? Talking to the FAO they make it sound near impossible. Don't tell me I will have to leave the country to do this. Document is nessary for passport issue. BTW I have an FE card though I am not in a major city. Anyone had to do this>??? |

You can only make interbank payments provided you are a legal employee with all the necessary documents.
You need to oppen a bank account denominated in the currency of your choice (US dollars, for instance). Then you can SWIFT it overseas - if you have the above-mentioned documents!
If not, the best bet would be to post it from Hong Kong. Western Union does accept money to some destinations.
From within the mainland this is not legal. |

Can you transfer the money by Western Union.
This service is available in any Bank of Agriculture branch.
The charge is $15 US which must be payed in US currency.
I imagine you may transfer your money to a friend who can then write a cheque on your behalf. |

Sorry, I have to set yaco right: It is true that the Agriculture bank of China hosts some offices of WU, but they are not allowed to accept cash from their customers for transfer overseas.
I have seen their website and have contacted a couple of ABOC branches, and all the answers were negative.
Don't waste your time! |
