Hahaha, it's pretty funny: back in '04 when I first signed in at Daves under my then-living cat's name, maaaaaan, the men on that board sent the nicest pm's!! One finally said s/thing like "when you get to Korea, let's do coffee or something..." And I thought, "Shucks, that's a nice guy...... wait a minute.... DOH! It's the "kitty"!!"
NCTBA, I was just curious about Doshisha as a work environment, of course. Just wondering if it stands out as in any way exceptional when compared to other Asian or even ME campuses. Cool that you got your grad degree in JP.
John, "my job" is my TAship here at the uni where I'm getting the PhD. You know about that. Thanks for introducing me to Valerie. I had a talkative tea with her and an Ecuadorian Fulbright in her dept. Nice folk. |

Dear veiledsentiments,
The state of New Mexico is, in many respects, more like a small town. But you're right; I did misinterpret his message.
"Qatar and the UAE!
I couldn't wait until morning..."
Glad you and Val got together, kittyfye.
Regards,
John |

Doshisha is nice and, from what I remember/heard...top of the line. But, even tho my wife is from that "Neck o' th' Woods" and has no desire to go back...and, I have all the desire to grant her every wish, I haven't given it a thought in a decade.

I think I could marry a Japanese woman.
Anyone else have a thought on this?

VS,
This is a post-modern thread--it denies the agency of the posters, and, therefore, actuality of the intended topics.
It can't go off topic!
Muhua hua hua hua hua (diabolical post-mod laughter) !!! |

Dear kittyfye,
languish: , -guished, -guishing, -guishes.
To be or become weak or feeble; lose strength or vigor.
To exist or continue in miserable or disheartening conditions: languished away in prison.
To remain unattended or be neglected: legislation that continued to languish in committee.
To become downcast or pine away in longing: languish apart from friends and family; languish for a change from dull routine.
To affect a wistful or languid air, especially in order to gain sympathy.
Good Lord, man - get out of the tub.
Regards,
John
P.S. Are you, by chance, from Boston (ahfternoon bahth?) |
