I'm a U.S. citizen about to begin his first newbie 1 year contract at a university in Ningbo. My questions:
1) Do I need to pay any Chinese income (or other) tax? How is this usually paid?
2) Do I still need to file income taxes with the U.S.?
3) Any tax tips for a newbie?
I really appreciate any help I can get. This forum is awesome, and I really am thankful to all of you answering my questions.
Thanks!

I have just read, that starting in march, expats will be required to file. This came to me in the form of a PDF from China Briefing.
Also, there is a part about the criminal check and even show examples of a few. It does states that these rules are not being enforced across the board. Mostly, they are targeting the AWP instead of the FEC, for discussion in this article. |
