I have a few questions about the bus situation. At some point i will have to go from Lima to Cuzco. Somepoint meaning 2/11 - 2/17.

1. Is there any suggestions on the bus route or company i should go with?
- someone had mentioned to me Cruz Del Sur.

2. Any cool places to see between Lima and Cuzco? Im sure there is. Any recommendations.

3. How much should the trip cost?

4. Any days or time of days better to travel? Like weekend as opposed to weeday?

5. Where in Lima can i connect with these buse? I was pretty sure i read somewhere that they are all in a certain district. I am not talking local busses but these other busses that would take you to Cuzco for example.

thanks if you know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cruz del Sur is good, probably the best. Oltursa is good, but I don't know if it goes to Cusco. Probably costs about 60 to 100 usd, max. I don't konw about cool places to see, I think you stay on the bus the whole time, takes about 20 to 25 hours. Any time is good to travel. You'll have to take a taxi to the bus terminal.

Third wolrd country means no bus terminal. Each bus company has their own little place in the city. YOu'll have to know which one you're going to. They're scattered all over the city.

Think about 30 usd for a secure taxi. 30 soles for an unsecure one.

You're right, kind of. They're building one, for inner city buses. At the rate they're going, it'll probably be done in 2015

Secure means it's through a company. Unsecure is anyone with a car that they use as a taxi. Secure is traceable, unsecure isn't.

I wouldnt pay more than 30 soles from airport to Bus station (unless prices have tripled in the last three years) .

i'll be going to Cuzco on July ,27th and i will be travelling by Bus. I found many information on one of these globe trotter web site. They say that Cruz del Sur is probably the best. their terminal in lima is somewhere in San Isidro, and sorry but I don't remenber the exact adress. They leave from Lima to Cuzco everyday at 3:00 pm and the trip takes 19h30. These are two level busses. The upper level with more room to sleep cost around 65 bucks ida sencilla. The lower level cost around $55. they serve two meals
