Hi,
I've been trying to find reviews of the MA TESOL/Applied Linguistics course offered at the University of Leicester, but there doesn't seem to be much info out there. Anyone out there in the program now, or graduate from it? Is it a good program? Is it well-run? Would you recommend it? Any insight would be appreciated!
Thanks! |

I've a friend who did his MA TESL/TEFL through their distance program. He recommends it. |

I did the first part 10 years ago. Got the Advanced Cert and then stopped. It was okay.
I liked the idea that you could do Part One and then settle for the AdCert in Tesol
Oz Unis are cheaper. (Eg Uni of New England)
Though if the pound keeps going down that might no longer be the case. |

Hey guys,
Thanks for the replies! I have friends of friends who've completed the program with only good things to say, but I guess I'm looking for more specific feedback....
Is the course load pretty heavy? Are the tutors/instructors fairly good with responding to questions/feedback? Is the program well-designed? Did you get much out of the experience?
Sure, money is definitely a factor, but with the pound where it is today I don't think it would be much cheaper studying with universities in Oz. I'm more concerned with how recognized the program is as well as how long it takes to complete. Seems like the programs in Oz can be completed significantly faster than those out of the UK. Is that true? |

The problem here may be that you'll find few regular posters who happen to have taken this specific program themselves.
I can tell you about my experience with the Birmingham MA TESL/TEFL, but I've got only second hand knowledge about Leicester - |
