Sorry, just need to rant a little on the beauty scene here in Malaysia. Now, I know that I was spoiled in Korea with good looking women, but this is pathetic... I have been here 2 weeks, and haven't seen more than 5-6 decent looking women. Maybe 6's at best... Not too impressed. If anoyne knows where they are, please let me know...

What... Do you want a description???? Uhhhh.... It doesn't really matter what I look like, it matters that there aren't any cute women here... If you don't like my rant, that's ok... Just ignore it. Otherwise, stay off my post...

I was single when I first went to Malaysia, and before going, I wondered how Id survive without totty. But from the off, I was well impressed. OK, that was my first time in Asia, but Ive since worked in Thailand and again in Malaysia, and the women still do it for me.

Where are they? I assume youre in KL. Try Bangsar or Sri Hartamas. Dont bother with Malays. Yes, they can be very cute, but there will only be problems. A lot of Chinese Malaysians are stunners and would like nothing more than to take up with a hansum foreigner.

Do a websearch on the names 'Julie Hoi' and 'Amber Chia' and 'Sarah Tan'. Walk around some of the high-end malls: One Utama, Sunway Pyramid, Bukit Bintang, Imbi Plaza, Sungei Wong. I usually get a sore neck walking around KL.

Clinics? You walk in (through the door); talk to the people at the counter (usually a woman); sit and wait; go in and see the doctor. You tell the doctor what ails you. They reply. If they prescribe medicine, you can usually buy it from the counter girl through one of those windows in the clinic. If the doctor thinks that you need an expert then they will give you a referral to another clinic, or else to a local hospital. Prices are way cheap relative to western countries. Usually you have to pay cash at the counter.

Not trying to be sarcastic, but, come on, how do clinics work? They work like, well, clinics.

What a completely ubsurd and non-sensible question. How does health care work in a country I've never been to, and can find no information about. Please take me out of my pure stupidity...

Hahahaha....it wasn't meant to be mean.

Clinics basically work the same everywhere, right? Doctors have offices with someone outside their room checking people in and out. You can pay for medicines at the counter.

The difference is whether or not they will bill you, or demand cash payment at the same time. In Malaysia, it is cash payment. I had a checking account for years but usually wrote only one or two checks per year. No one wants to deal with checks, so it is all credit card/debit card payments (which I don't like), and cash.

The clinics here have fairly good hours, including a couple of hours at night when working people can come in. I also know of a 24-hour clinic, but those are rare.

Perhaps if you had specific questions regarding clinics, it wouldn't be so vague.

I don't think that I have ever paid more than 40-50 ringgit for a clinic visit.

Well, I didn't take it as mean, I took it as sarcastic... So i made a sarcastic comment back... Anyways, I went to the clinic today, and I spent 172 RM... crazy. But it was a sunday, and I had tonsilitis. But I couldn't go another night. I slept about an hour last night...

Sounds like you're having a whale of a time!

You could try clubs in Cangkat Bukit Bintang (Frangipani), Heritage Row, Zouk, Quattro... That's it really.

I went to the clinic today to have a physical exam done for the renewal of my teaching contract (every 2 years). It took only two hours and cost RM80.

The time and price included visiting my main doctor first and him referring me to another clinic, close by, to have a chest x-ray done. Finally, I went back to my clinic for the doctor to fill in the requisite form. The bulk of the 2 hours was in waiting for the x-ray and its report. I paid cash, which I can claim back from my employer.

As to beautiful women, I am surrounded by them. Staff and students, young and still kind of young (30-ish). But, I am unavailable and these ladies, some of whom are quite available, wait for their knight in shining armor to show up. Have you ever seen the movie "Beautiful Girls"? Great flick on this theme, and it had my favorite scenes ever of a young Natalie Portman.

I am old enough to know what youngsters don't know. Set impossibly high standards and one will end up alone and (probably) lonely. You see a lot of posturing on such forums as this, you know: where are the babes, I'm hot to trot, and etc. (I don't know you, so I cannot claim that you fit this scenario.)

Good luck on the clinics and the women.

Jalapi,

I'll give you somewhat of a pass because you have provided me good info in the past. Every country is different with Health care and clinics, must I explain more? I take it you have been around, so I will not add more sarcasm here. The issue is different EVERYWHERE.

In Korea, you need health insurance, and you go to a specialist, ie. you have a sore throat, you go to a nose and throat specialist. In Thailand, you go to a "pharamacy" and talk to a guy (not a doctor) and he thinks what is wrong and gives you medicine... Are the clinics the same in America??? I don't think so... See things are different EVERYWHERE. CAN YOU UNDERSTAND THIS?????

And I'm not a youngster, I'm old enough.

But then again, you're british, and you feed your ego with these demeaning forum posts, to make yourself feel better. I hope it works. I can %100 guarantee that the women I have pulled are women 2-3 times out of your league, but once again,
