For the CoE process they ask me to provide a photo 2 inches square. Would that be 2 inches length or width?

i believe it would be 2" length and 2" width = 2" squared.
I just took a normal passport photo and cut it down to two inches for both length and width

Isn't squared length by width, therefore 2x2 would be 4, na?

2 inches in length and 2 inches in width.

I got my picture done at CVS. They pull down the white screen for ya and everything. You may not get the exact size, so I had to cut it to size on my own. Not hard Very Happy

You're thinking 2 square inches, which is not the same as 2 inches square. The former would include 1x2 and 2x1 while the latter is 2x2.

Do you really need to go through all that? I just got my passport back today and I only gave them a standard passport pic with a white background which was fine, even though on the application form there was a space for a square pic of the dimensions you are talking about.

I did it. It also says on the application that it can be 45 cm x 45cm. Thanks

45cmx45cm? That would be a huge photo, more than a square foot. 45x45 mm, maybe? Smile
