I'm planning to visit Hongkong for a few days in the end of april and some friends told me that april is tyhphoon season, the worst time to visit. So can anybody tell me hows the weather there around april and may?
Thank you |

Typhoons are rare in April, though we did get one last year. Late April it is usually starting to get a bit sweaty with a good chance of heavy downpours. Think shorts, short-sleeved shirts and flip-flops, with a folding umbrella to hand; ditto for May, though the heat, humidity and likelihood of typhoons all increase as you head towards mid-summer.
Anyway, April is certainly not the worst time to visit. Early April (often sunny and breezy but not yet too hot) is one of my favourite times in HK. June and July - hot, lots of rain, occasional typhoons and huge humidity - would probably get my vote as worst time to visit, closely followed by August and September. |
