hello everyone i'm a new arrival with interac and my placement is going to be in kashiwa city in chiba.
i'm just making this thread to see if there is anyone else who will be living in the area or if people have any advice for a japanese noob setting up. |

I've been to that stop on the Joban line a couple of times. There's pretty much everything you need I think. Restaurants, shops, department stores, I think a yodabashi or bikka camera, etc. etc. Not too far from Tokyo, either. About 30 minutes or so. I remember checking out the rent of places while I was there and it was much cheaper than where I live in Tokyo. Can't remember exact prices, but I was pretty jealous. All in all, a pretty good placement, man. Live it up.  |

You'll also be able to go and watch the mighty Kashiwa Reysol play football if you were so inclined.
I lived not to far from Kashiwa, in Matsudo. It has got everything you need as the previous poster mentioned, including many Izakayas. I think there was even an Irish bar? That indicates the size of it. Not massive, but big enough to support an Irish bar! |
