Hello everyone. I'm leaving tomorrow for my spring vacation from the boarding school I currently work at. After I visit some friends in Paris, I'm going to spend a week or so in the Czech Republic, traveling alone for all but the last two days. I'll be in Cesky Krumlov from the 7 (evening) till the 9 of April, Karlovy Vary from the 9 (evening) till 12, then heading to Prague to meet a friend (with whom I will fly out with on the morning of the 14th).
Part of the reason I'm spending this time there is to check out the country and a few cities and see how I like it there (and if I have a fondness for any particular area). Next year I'm planning to get certified and find a job somewhere. During my time in Prague I'll have a look at the Caledonian and Language House schools.
I'm wondering if there are any teachers living in any of the areas I'm visiting who would like to meet up with me. It would be great to have someone show me around a bit, chat about teaching in that area, or even just grab a beer and hang out for a bit, since I'll be on my own for all that time and I don't (yet) speak any Czech.
Anyone interested? |

I live in the 'greater Krumlov area,' but my school break is still three weeks away, so I'm not there
Enjoy, anyway! Krumlov is special. |

Loket nad Ohř is a beautiful little town located 20 minutes outside of Karlovy Vary. It is worth a visit if you have the time, as its an easy day-trip from Karlovy Vary.
In Moravia, there are many beautiful places to visit, such as Olomouc, but perhaps on your next trip. |

I can second that.
Loket is a wonderful little town and for me felt like a miniature Cesky Krumlov.
However, if you r planning on just visiting Loket (elbow) for the day from Karlovy Vary then make sure to have your food in Karlovy Vary because the restaurants in Loket are in my opinion pretty terrible - seems they get quite a few German tour bus groups and guess they don't need to try and catch clients so much.
My fav spot in the country btw is Slavonice:
