Hello.
I'm in the process of planning a move to Aguascalientes from Atlanta with my Mexican fiance. I have a MA degree in French and 12 years of public & private school experience teaching French in Middle and High School. I am certified in French in Georgia. I do not have a TESOL certificate, although I do have 9 graduate credits in TESOL.
I'm wondering if I should make an effort to get a TESOL certification before we leave (in one year)? I am more interested in teaching in a language school or teaching English/French at the University than in trying to find a job in an international school.
Anyone currently teaching/living in Aguascalientes?
Should I try to find a job before leaving?
Finally, is age going to be a significant factor? I've seen a bit of age bias in job ads in various sectors. I'm (only!) 35, but I've seen some postings that seem to think this is over the hill!
Many thanks! |
