This Tuesday at 19:30, on the PEARL TV newsreel it was claimed that 3 foreign nationals in Guangdong had contracted the diesease. One American, whose name they mentioned (but it has slipped my mind) was hospitalised in Shenzhen, and awaiting a transfer to a Hong Kong hospital.
He was reported as having a survival chance of 30%. |

Apparently, the Chinese Canadians did recover, and are fine. The American man is not doing so well, though. |

I am sorry to report, from the Globe and Mail, James Salisbury has died. http://tinyurl.com/95i8
In Hong Kong on Wednesday, an American with SARS was pronounced dead Wednesday in hospital after being brought across the border from mainland China in an ambulance, an official said.
James Salisbury, a 51-year-old English instructor at a polytechnic institute in the mainland, was taken by ambulance from the border city of Shenzhen to Hong Kong, a family friend said.
He was confirmed dead at North District Hospital, according to hospital spokesman Peter Cheng.
Mr. Salisbury's six-year-old son, Mickey, was also ill and taken to Tuen Mun Hospital, Mr. Cheng said, but he had no information about the boy's condition. |

I was just about to post the same thing.
He was treated in what TBV called "East Hospital" in Shenzhen. Has anybody heard of that hospital? Is it where foreigners go to get their phyisicals? |
