Hi all,
Though I'd pass on my experience with this 'school'.
So, where to begin. Firstly, it is a Christian school. Morning prayer expected but not forced upon you if you show a lack of interest. As for being Christian, well the first 3 months I was on an illegal contract, with lots of excuses coming out, until I told them my wife's uncle worked for immigration, that she had told him, and he(we) were concerned, then things started to move on this issue. However, I was told to ,lie to immigration when i went - very Christian.
The people were generally fine, except there was a definite 'us' versus 'you' (western) mentality, manifesting in all manner ways but most notably in the clear lack of communication or advice forthcoming from the older teachers. Also, any comments made to improve the school were taken on board, then never heard of again.
Academically, again quite worrying. Claims to be an international school but actually runs its own curriculum, which deviated quite severely from the Cambridge path. Also, if a child failed an exam, be it term or final year exam, scores, and comments, were altered to be more pleasing to parents. Thus, if a child failed a year, they would still go on to next year with the parent unaware that their child is failing and needs extra help. I have proof of this by the way.
The parents actually had free reign almost and were incredibly powerful - beware.
The schools facilities are quite poor for an 'international school or even Nat.Plus school, and when things were asked or requested for, with correct procedure carried out, like requisition order, it never materialized. Again, I have proof. Then, the Director will say, "just fill out a form." It took me 14 weeks to get a new net for the table tennis table..........
Pay was very good 20+ plus bonus and flight. However, it took me over 3 months, of CONSTANT badgering, to finally get my bonus (which is still 900,000 short) and the return flight to UK was altered to a flat 10 mil. Again, completely useless in terms of communication and standards of conducting oneself.
The list goes on and on I'm afraid, but I can't go on anymore - I want to wipe my hands clean of this saga. Suffice to say that, I have worked for over 18 years, in many organizations all over the world, and this is by far the worst job i have ever had in my life.
Overall, I would NOT recommend this school to potential teachers or, in fact, especially, parents.
I hope this is useful to some people out there - all the best.

This kind of hypocrisy always makes me laugh, and is common to quite a few 'Christian' schools in Indonesia. |

Where I work, we often have to write in fake scores for students, just to pass them to the next level and shut the parents up.
It even tells us to do this in their "welcome notes" for new teachers. |

Your experience is quite common, sad to say. There are lots of schools, even Christian ones, that operate on such shady principles. When I've worked at a place like that, I've always refused to lie to the parents or alter scores. I don't like it! The parents generally accept the truth from me with good grace.
