From people who have worked for Expertise English in Beijing, are they reputable and follow through on their promises?
Thanks! |

Never heard of them. Obviously a private company. |

Hello,
I was wondering what you had learned in your research and would be interested to hear.
Thanks,

After sending my resumee, photo and contact details etc, in Feb 2009 they have not returned my emails. I've tried ringing them on their listed phone number on their website - but it's wrong. "Chicka" was the person who replied to my original and follow up email. When I asked about how they were able to get me a Z Visa in Beijing (when everyone tells me I MUST get a Z Visa BEFORE I arrive in China), silence! I can find nothing about them, or anyone who does, despite them advertising on Dave's ESL Cafe for more than 2 years. They seem to 'gather' plenty of photos and personal details of people. I wonder who they are selling our details to? A FAQ document they sent me has a website of www.honeyhappy.com (this re-directs you to the Expertise Education Co wsebsite) very funny, and I don't mean funny ha-ha. I would also like to hear from anyone who has been recruited/contracted by them.

I have been recruited and have talked to an Expertise representative who has answered my questions so far and given me the emails of three employees. I have not signed the contract yet but haven't gotten into the technical of the Z-visa although the contract says it will give the invitation letter for Z-visa - like you after all the research I definitely want it BEFORE. Now I want to examine them further even though they seemed legitimate and I was inclined to go with them. Let's stay in contact.
Thanks,
Tonja |

Hello Tonja,
Did they ring you or did you ring them? I would appreciate their phone number or skype address etc. Do you have an actual postal address or business name and address for them in Beijing, or do you only have the email address. Because my contacts in Beijing (Chinese) need the Chinese name of Expertise Co or their business address, because they do not record English names in their directories!
The 'contact' person said their name was CHICKA. Does that name have any meaning or relevance to anyone else out there?
Please keep in touch, Tonja

Chicka contacted me too. I was supposed to have an interview with a native speaker. Never happened, he had a meeting. After finding out the slary, I turned it down. |

Thank you Yes Sir I can Bogey & Naturegirl321.
It's now obvious to me that Job Seeking over the internet is NOT the way to go. Will make "local" enquiries thru' some contacts in Beijing, but they're busy people, too. No doubt this message will be removed by a moderator.
Cheers one-and-all. Good luck Tonja

my friend works for them...I assume this is the same company, they specialise in kindergarten??
He went to BJ in the Spring Festival and joined them, and was previously in China on an F visa. Although he did have to make a trip to Korea (which suited him anyway), he is now on an offical visa / RP, and this is a teacher without a degree or TEFL cert.
He hasnt told me of any problems. |

Dear nboldsham1
Sorry just replying, hope you see this!!
I have two numbers for Expertise
8610 8427 7993
8610 8427 1768
I still think that they are legitimate, but it makes me nervous hearing stories about people not getting a Z visa for 2 years, etc. and really would prefer to leave the US on a Z than F and keep extending and possibly get in trouble so I am seeing what they will/can do....obviously they follow through but I am wondering if that is standard operating procedure for paperwork and China.....I agree that it would be better to go to the schools themselves, etc. but not knowing anything I wanted the support such a company can offer and so it is certainly like a needle in a haystack to find a good fit. Please lets stay in contact, would love to hear how you end up.
