Please PM me if you know of any five-figure sum jobs for a foreigner in southern China.

All schools in Guangdong pay five-figure monthly salaries - in mao!
There are some six-figure jobs as well, but for me to PM you their particulars you would have to out yourself here first of all.

Five figure sums in RMB? That's a lot, do they give you housing as well? I"m jealous. When I was looking for jobs, I never saw any five figure jobs, I guess it's who you know and being in the right place at the right time.

Sarcastic jokes aside (noting you did put youself into it), the only place you're gunna find a quintial figure salary is in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Beijing. Those are the monthly salaries, obviously. And secondly, do you honestly expect us TEFLers in China to stick with a crappy 4000 a month and give up a 5 fig to someone we don't know. What were you honestly expecting? Dude.................Where's my life?

This other guy told me he was making US$ 4000 a month; he teaches in a bilingual school.
Then again, he is not a lousy TEFLer.
He teaches REAL subjects. His problem: few schools can afford to hire him. SO he has stayed put for the last 3 years.

Roger, is that other fellow at the Golden Lake Estate or Zeng Cheng Campus?

Ger, there are some kindergartens paying five-figure sums to foreign teachers if you are interested in teaching that level of English.

I have PMed you, Ger, but you have to be a North American apparently to qualify for that five-figure sum job teaching kindergarten kids (according to the job advertisement). Don't know how you'd define a "North American" just know that I don't qualify for that job.

A young man comes before the Customs agent.
A: "State your citizenship."
B:"American" (pronounced with a Spanish accent).
A: "Hold on there, buddy. Say that again."
B: "I sed American."
A: "I'm going to give you a test."
B: "No, no senor, no need for test, I tell you I"m American."
A: "Yeah, sure buddy. OK, let's see, ... I've got it. Make a sentence with the following colors: green, pink and yellow."
B: "Oh senor, I tell you I'm American. But OK, let's see... I was at my bruder-in-laws house and the phone went 'green, green, I pinked it up and sed yellow!"

"Just a guy" what do you think is meant by "North American"? And where are you from yourself?

Could you explain this, please..?
Being from N. America, I don't quite understand it's full meaning & hope you might be able to help me & possibly others who might wonder, better understand what you mean by it.

& I know what PMed means.

Susie,
Before you edited your post & clarified it, my quote was all I had to go by, notice the period after apparently in the quote box in my post.

So.... being from N. America,
(N. = North being from = Americanized way of saying I come from)
& N. American can mean youre from one of three countries. `Right..? Wink
But I wasnt asking about that,

I thought you maybe meant that Roger never replied, so you were implying that folks from N. America might not answer messages.

I stay China now, beefo I wen come hea, I waz in da middle a da ocean on one island. Cool

Susie,
no, other posters can testify to this: I am not North American. Have even been flamed (unfairly, I thought) for being prejudiced against them on occasion...
Yes, I did receive some PM's from you. Yesterday, my computer went down, and it was unable to reconnect to the Internet until today. I thought the official thought police, tipped off by a lunatic from the CHINA DAILY, had intervened.
It was but a technical glitch.

Anyway, the school referred to goes by a different name. It's a private Chinese-owned boarding-school that also has an international section where students get prepared for overseas studies.

I am interested in those kindergartens you mentioned. Would you care to give me the details?
