Hi, everyone.
I'm flying to Korea on Thursday, and I have a nine hour long layover at Taipei's airport. I'd like to leave the airport, get something to eat, and possibly meet up with some Taiwanese friends.
Have any of you done this before? Will customs get angry with me? How far away is the airport from civilization (I read it's 50 minutes from Taipei)?
Last question (sorry for so many): Do they do organized tours from the airport? Seoul has, for example, 1 hr, 2 hr, and 3 hr long trips for passengers on layovers to go on. If Taiwan's airport had something like that, it'd be great.
Thanks for the help. |

you could totally take a bus from the airport into taipei and spend the day messing around, then go back to tainan. i don't think there are any tours but you could ask those shady characters at the information desk. the taipei airport is disgusting compared to gimpo. no one would get mad at you, as pretty much anyone can enter taiwan for about 3 months for just tourism. |

Thanks, I'll go exploring and then come back for my flight.
I read on a different travel forum that people with 7+ hr layovers are entitled to a free four hour tour, so I'll inquire about that. I'll update here after I've seen if that pans out or not. |
