Hello all,
I have a few years EFL experience and consider myself an adequate-good teacher. I do not intend to remain in this profession beyond the next 2 years.
I don't have much knowledge of methodology or grammar and I am currently teaching Chinese English majors conversational English.
Could you recommend some e-books/ websites/ other methods to improve my teaching theory?
What is the preferred methodology for teaching high level oral English and where can i read/study it in detail? (for free )
Cheers

I find the best methodology material comes out of mainstream education. I would suggest a review of any of the National, State or Provincial Departments of Education for curriculum material which invariably has methodological content. In Canada each provincial Dept of Education has an ESL/literacy/adult branch(es) and many free materials and source books for ESL. The best source I have found to be the ELA (English Language Arts) curricula and support material which is rich in proven/researched methodology and theory. Great stuff. I would start with the Depatment of Education in your home country and move from there.
In addition most Depatments of Education have a 'curriculum navigator function' which allows for online access to material. Be warned that this material is designed for trained teachers (B.Ed.) so the learning curve may be a bit step at first....a wonderful resource. Here are a few links for Canadian sites:
