Hey guys. I'm heading to Lima next week and then to Trujillo. It looks like my choices in getting to Trujillo are either taking a 9-hour bus ride for about $25, or taking an hour long plane ride for over $400. I read on here that plante tickets from Lima to Trujillo could be less than $100. Am I looking in the wrong place? I tried Travelocity. Maybe that post was really old.

Oh, and one other thing. I'm only staying for a week to look around and apply for jobs before I move back in July for good. Do you recommend I change money that week, or should I just try to use my credit card/dollars wherever I can?

Thank you, thank you.

Wow, you're paying too much for a flight. Should only be about 90 usd, one way. Try Lan.com.pe Make sure you go to the Peru site, if you go to the worldsite you'll pay a lot more.

Also try www.kayak.com

The info isn't old, my husband just flew up to Piura, which is twice as far as Trunjilo for only 90 bucks.

If you use your credit card, you might get stuck with extra charges. I'd use an ATM and cash.

Thanks for directing me to the Lan website. The flight was slightly cheaper, but still over $400. hmph. I think I'll just endure the 9 hr bus ride and hope my attention span doesn't give out. :0)

Go here:

http://www.lan.com/index-es-pe.html

I just priced a one way flight for next Wednesday for $105. You should be able to go to a travel agent once you get there and get a good price also.
