I just received a job offer today but can't find any info on this school. Any advice or info would be great!!!!! |
First I heard of it, so I'm hoping you can tell us what the offer is, in terms of working hours and compensation package. I can only say that Berlitz is a well-known and respected name around the world. I once went into a Berlitz school in Poznan, Poland, and I got good vibes. They were out of session at the time, but the two staff members there seemed charming and professional, and the interior looked like a vibrant and well organized venue. |

What!!!! Berlitz, Inlingua, English First, Oxford Academy, WallStreet .... They're all well-known for one thing: High fees and slave labor. They'll take on just about anybody. |

I was rather shocked when I read that too... I can't recall any ex-teacher for Berlitz in the Middle East that ever had a good word to say about working for them. Their reputation in this part of the world is for entry level positions for those who don't have the credentials yet to get the good jobs. That said, we all have to start somewhere. But, it is best to know that you will be overworked and underpaid.

Okay, good to know. As I said, I have no personal experience with them. Never heard from anyone who actually worked for them. In general, companies that have been around 40+ years are at the least reliable. |

Berlitz is only a franchise. Many of the outfits in the Middle East would never get a license in the West. Berltz and other "organisations" are eager to have a presence in the ME. If you've got the cash - you'll need $500,000 in the bank to set up shop as a WallStreet school - you can open one. |
