Do any of you out there have any ideas for me I now live in Queretaro and remember when I was teaching here a few years ago how hard it was to find a place to live.
Now I have a large house and would like to find an ESL teacher to share or rent a room from me. I don't want to advertise in the Spanish papers and there are no English papers here. I just remember how I was really stuck finding housing in Mexico, and thought I could help some other teacher now I have lots of space.
The house is very nice and really too big for one person and her Azeri cat.

That sounds like a great idea. Perhaps if you contacted the corporations, schools and universities that hire foreign teachers, and speak with the English coordinator he/she would send new teachers your way. You may also find bulletin boards at entrances to stores, which you could post a notice in English.

Sorry kidcarbon I guess you didn't read the whole message. I have a cat one that I brought all the way from Azerbaijan so you know how much she means to me. She and I wouldn't be happy with a dog in the house.
As to jobs yes there are jobs here, do you have qualifications? If not get some and look online for Mexico jobs. The migra likes you to have lots of paper to get an FM3 so you can work here legally. Having watched a couple of guys being taken out of what I can only guess was a detention center under the migra office don't try to work without an FM3.

I read the post. Don't buy into those ideas that they can't get along. She gets along with cats now.

I do have the quals. I'm shopping around now and will be Mexico in July to do the foot work. I hadn't considered Queretaro before. What is the weather like? The terrain....

How many uni's are there? Could you give me some addresses?

Well I am not sure how many unis there are here. It seems everywhere I look I see a new one. There are language schools too. 2 owned by a friend of mine, with economy language schools have been hit hard.
The weather is good only hot in April and May always sunny, this is a very dry place part of the year right now we have started to get rain. It rains in the late afternoon for about 3 or 4 months.
We are close to mountains, not high ones like the rockies but mountains. Bernal is an hour away, Tequis, 3/4 of an hour,San Miguel de Allende 1hr, Mexico DF is 3 hrs by direct bus to the airport.This is the centre of history for the Mexican revolution. We have an airport here but most flights are very expensive not too many airlines fly into our city.
The city is clean and safe 2 of my things to look for when I live in another country.
