I don't get your concern...
If you're going there with your girlfriend, who gives a flying squirrel where you go? Heck, a man could live in central Mongolia and be content if he brings his own girl; that's really the only significant problem small towns ever have, in my opinion. |

If you don't mind Hokkaido, you might try subscribing to the Hokkaido Insider. |

Sure, but also lots of competition.
By the way, where is "a place like this"? San Francisco is on your avatar.

In what capacity? Where? Using what language?

Not for a work visa, no.

Tell us where you are, first. SF is not exactly a town in my book. |

I was referring to Miyazaki. I live and teach Special Ed. in SF right now. I am considering a move to Miyazaki in hopes of landing a job there. I'm being laid off due to budget cuts and will be searching for a job starting in July. I know this is not the ideal time to leave for Japan but I'll have a little nest-egg and the desire to travel and take some chances. I'd also consider Fukuoka or Kagoshima for a year but my dream spot is Miyazaki (yes, I surf .
I feel that my experience in Spec. Ed. might be useful due to the fact that the instructional methods are largely communication-based and very rudimentary in form. Thanks for your input thus far. |
