I have just confirmed what has been propounded here by several vets of the KSA. I just had to find out for myself.

Retinal scans and ocular mapping are 100% required upon entry/exit to/from KSA.

Fingerprinting as well as mandatory physical examination, blood work, and a separate medical report are also mandatory. In other wurdz, you can't get the medical report from the same physician who examined you in KSA.

Also, the Meningitis vaccine is 100% required of ALL travellers, which is an increased requirement from the previous one which only mandated Hajj or Umra pilgrims to get the vaccine.

Just thought I'd put it in a walnut shell.

Well, the scanning of the ol' "baby blues" means no more passport washing...unless you're also willing to gouge out your eyes! Welcome to the 21st Century G., Kingdon of Humanity...er, it's mid-2009! Laughing

The change in the meningitis rule is just a natural extension of what I posted on another thread...at least, now, you don't have to fear that cops at the check-points will be trying to give ya a poke if ya don't have your paperwork with you.

That would put me off for a start. Rolling Eyes Can you have the jab done in your own country and take a certificate of proof?
Alternatively, I can do a special offer with my knitting needles. Laughing Queue here everyone

The international yellow vaccination card should be sufficient. It normally doesn't matter where you had your shots. It does matter to the Saudis that you get a second HIV test within the country as a prerequisite for your iqama.

.......... the retinal network of latticed veins being scanned by (gulp! Shocked ) "..........The blood vessels within the retina absorb light more readily than the surrounding tissue.......a retinal scan is performed by casting an undetectable ray of low-energy infrared light into a persons eye as they look through the scanner's eyepiece. This beam of light outlines a circular path on the retina. Because retinal blood vessels are more sensitive to light than the rest of the eye, the amount of reflection fluctuates. The results of the scan are converted to computer code and stored in a database.[2]"

I dont care if its harmless, this is downright GROSS. No thank you. Ditto the damn vaccine paranoia. CDC is priming everybody for some kind of horrible genetic predispositions.

Good bye, KSA, though I never even met ya'! Too much trouble already.
