|
|
I have recently come home from 1 year teaching in China and I will be heading back in the next couple of weeks and I have a couple of questions regarding the spaces for renewals in my FEC and Green book.
Both the FEC and Green book have several spaces for renewals and the Green book has spaces for change of address and (to my surprise), occupation. My documents expired after I left last time and I was curious as to whether or not it is just a matter of sending the books to the embassy to have those old documents renewed and ammended along with relevant supporting documentation from my new workplace? Or do I have to reapply for a new FEC and green book altogether?
Blah, this looks full of jargon. Sorry, it is late and I am exhausted.
Thanks. |

I have never read such a questi8on, so here is my guess: No, I don't think the embassy will be competent to deal with those documents!
You will need them inside China, and your employer must submit them to the PSB or whoever, not yhourself! |

I would just keep them as keepsake. There is a fine for failing to turn in the green book upon exit from China. |

Yeah, that is what I thought too. However - when I left China, I had all my documents nice and neatly for the man to inspect, thinking he would take my green book but he just looked at it and then gave it straight back to me. After that, no one else asked to see any of my documents and there was no obvious place to get rid of them hence I still have the little green book today. ??????????????????????????????????????????? |

So, as someone said, you have got a keepsake, mate, and no reason to worry your butt off!
Just don't show them when you arrive in the country next time!
Perhaps you have experienced owning fake RMB? If not, you are in for a mind-boggling learning lesson! Pay your fine to the PSB with fake money - they will shove it back to you right away, insisting that they only take genuine banknotes!
It is true - and it shows how incompetent bureaucrats all over the world are! |
