It seems there is a different department that gives out critical information and another critical department that makes decisions.
We (my wife and I) were told by my employer that I would be here in Bahrain for only a couple of days while my visa gets renewed. My employer had told me that they were in contact with the embassy in Bahrain and that we should apply for the visas together. She was to join me in Bahrain on the 7th of June because she was arriving from Canada and I was to apply with her as a family application with her visa issued as an attachment to mine. Well my original visa expires on the 15th of June and this issue was addressed by the embassy official who said that it was OK to apply for a new visa as long as the expiry date wasn't longer than a week.
Well we've been here for a week now because the embassy said that they couldn't issue a new visa because I still had a week left on my old visa. This is what I call BS these officials must have a masters' in BS or something.
It would have been a miracle from God if everything were to have gone according to what the Saudi officials said.

went to seef mall and saw UP, Star Trek and Terminator, not all in one day of course. Found the hard rock cafe in Bahrain. walked along the boardwalk near the marina. went to the apple store on international blvd. I think prices are about the same as Dubai just a litle more expensive here. We were looking at the thin Mac and thought that the price was decent compared to the North American price.
Well the museum is not going to happen but we will definately keep that in mind if we are ever trapped here again. One question I have is about the visa costs for staying in Bahrain. The last time I left I had to pay 60 Dinar because I overstayed the visa limit. Just what is the visa procedure for Bahrain?
