Hello,

I've been offered one of the Language Link Internships in Moscow or outskirts. I have also been recommended to be eligible for "fast tracking" to be a full EFL teacher with the school.

I've read some negative feedback on here - for both LL and teaching in Russia in general - but I also think many people have responded through PMs so I'm not getting the full message.

I am hoping to receive some feedback on Language Link's intern program - either on here or through private message. Please only respond if you have some direct knowledge of the current LL intern program. I really would like to know if this is worth my time.

Was interested in this same internship. Was wondering if you have received any information from actual participants?

Hoped to chat with you about your thoughts, but not sure how to get in contact as we both don't have enough posts to PM.

....This is an old post, but I am now looking in to this internship as well. Did you get any valuable advice, or have any personal experience at this point?

I did this internship w/ LL in Moscow a few years back....
Here's a summary of my experience:

-Training was mediocre (at best) - but it was a way to get a contract and visa w/o a CELTA...

-The pay SUCKED!!

-They bill you to your students as a qualified teacher... Not cool!!

-Don't get on their DOS's bad sides (or their director Rob, for that matter)

Other than that, it was a great experience for a newbie teacher - many of my fellow interns completed the whole thing and did quite well for themselves - including getting contracts w/ LL the following year....

I would add that you're probably better getting your CELTA (or equivalent) and negotiating a contract from a position of strength rather than of weakness...

As for me, I did their training course - worked a couple of months and took their visa and ran!!! Smile

I worked at another school for double the money until it expired the following year!
