Sorry Citizenkane, I wasn't able to post a reply before the thread got locked.

CORRECTION: I wasn't told this, I read it here http://www.eslteachersboard.com/cgi-bin/intl/index.pl?read=15656. It took me a while to actually figure out where I'd actually heard/read it Embarassed.

I agree with Cleopatra, it is probably best to assume that it is still required Neutral.

No, it's no more required, but I'm not sure if all Saudi Embassies have updated their data.

(To those who have recently taught in Saudi Arabia, the Letter of No Objection is NO LONGER needed if we are hiring you from outside the country.)

That sounds pretty clear and unambiguous..... but one would have to wonder if every consular official in every Saudi embassy has got the message!

I also wonder if the fact that Prince Sultan Military College appears to be a government institution has anything to do with it? I did read a while ago that if you transfer from a private to a government institution you do not need the NOC. One hears so many rumours about that little piece of paper... but yes, as you say, I think teachers would do well to operate on the assumption that they are still required, and be pleasantly surprised if they find that they are not!

thanks for this, Pikgitina.

However, as others have said, I'm going to be cautious with this one. Believe it when I see it...
