If I send a photo on my resume, should I dye my hair blonde to get a little bit of an advantage? I hear the schools there want that typical blonde hair, blue eyes teacher. ( i don't have blue eyes though. ) I know this won't help as much as TESOL but it's a start! ha ha. |

Or if you have a photo program like photoshop, you can just give yourself blonde hair and blue eyes digitally. Then those job offers will start rolling in!  |

I'm not blue eyed blonde haired...but had no problem getting opportunites to interview....it seemed they simply wanted native english speakers who speak well |

No, definitely not. If it is at all obvious that that is not your natural colour (eyebrow colour not matching for example), then it could actually be a handicap. I have brown hair and hazel eyes and it has never been an issue. The "blue eyes, blonde hair" thing has not really been a "requirement" here since probably the 80s- it's not something any reputable employer worries about. |
