Hello, I am a few months from hopefully leaving from China and have posted one other time but did not receive any constructive feedback for my search. I am planning to go to China in November and have received a TESOL/TESL certificate through a one month intensive training program which I found very helpful. I have a bachelor's degree but not a teaching degree. I have been told by many people that China is a comparatively simple country to find a job which works out great because it also happens to be the country I find very culturally interesting. My certification program has a decent placement program I've been told, but I would like to find additional options so I am not depending solely on one organization. Does anyone have any recommendations of search engines, placement agencies, or other that they have found personally helpful to simply find out what's out there. The internet has proven to be a vast beast and determining how to best allocate my time in my search is a challenge.

I thought nickpellatt's comments were constructive feedback, I'm not sure why you didn't think so? People can help you with your job search but some of the questions he asked were important. Teaching experience? Skin colour? True, it is easier to find a job in China as opposed to the Gulf or Europ. There are good employers and there are employers that will rip you off, so providing more personal details will help people assist you in finding one of the good jobs.

Why aren't you posting this in the most target-rich forum -- China?

Are you looking for more country options?

Or more employers in China?

I thought I was constructive too. Perhaps it didnt seem that way because I was slightly sceptical about your course .. sceptical, but correct I think, esp considering their placement service.

Anyway ... I did send you a PM suggesting you look at a town in China. I spoke very briefly to my contact there, and he is willing to look at a resume if you care to send it.

Check your PMs ... and you can reply to me via PM at Daves, via my email address that I included or even by finding me on facebook!

Aint gonna get much more help than that methinks Smile

I personally felt the previous response I had received was much more criticism of what I had previously done rather than constructive recommendations of sites or services they'd recommend for future job placement. I chose my certification program based on recommendations from people I personally know that have benefited from it in other countries, and I am not looking for critiques on the course I took at this time. At this point, I am interested in specifically going to China and am just looking for sites/services people may recommend to get my resume out there. Thank you for the recommendation to try my question in the China section of this website, I began in the newbie section because it looked to be a decent place to start.

Well, I personally think that

tefl.com
eslcafe.com
eslbase.com

are good sites for jobs. Good luck
