This one is good and I've found expatromania.ro , but they seem to be a bit sleepy. Are there any active Romanian forums out there? |

There don't seem to be too many. There are a couple of Romanian expat forums in the 'meet up' group which have a lot of members but also little activity. They aren't bad for finding out about events though.

Thanks. I also found expatclub.ro Sadly most of them are expat forums, I mean those making tons of money and getting housing and all that because they were brought from abroad.
You wouldn't happen to know the best way to get a job from abroad in Romania? I'd like to avoid Bucharest. Intl schools are out, I'm not fully certified. Any places that hire from abroad? I've emailed about 20 schools, including Bell, the BC, and IH, and they haven't replied. |

There are really not many language schools in Romania, especially ones that would hire expats, and as a result the expat community is smaller and has less of a net presence than in other country. Most of the other expats I know work for larger corporations and have expats mates there and so don't need to use the net much either, or once they've met a few like-minded people through the forums (such as the meetup ones) they stay in contact directly and disappear from the sites.
Job-wise there's not a lot on except for the places I've mentioned in other posts (BC, IH, etc) and those companies that do language training would largely prefer to employ people on a contract by contract basis, rather than having them on the books full-time.
If you want a contract where everything is laid on for you (accommodation, flights, taxes paid, holidays, insurance, etc.) then you have to go for a job at one of the international schools (i.e. teaching kids). If that's not your thing, then it's probably the British Council or self-employment.
Good luck,
