CV: they didn't answer me either. I had asked a few questions previous to submitting the application that were always answered in a timely fashion and when I sent the application I got a mere "Thank you" and never heard from them again.

Well, I asked just last week if I should just do a resubmission since I had more information...like passport info and also mentioned how I was in the process of taking my Praxis I test. The passport thing was a spur of the moment opportunity for me, and just went on and got one, and the Praxis test I'd actually forgotten to mention.

She told me:

Quote:
Dear Wendy,

Thank you for the e-mail. I'll add this e-mail to your application.

Sincerely,
Kathleen Sherba
James English School

Since it was so recent, I can't help but wonder if I actually should, but being an ESL volunteer would look very good for the application. It's very recent, as I just found out about their needing them Monday. I start next week with the training and stuff.

Yeah, I think Kathleen Sherba must be very busy. She must be only getting back to the one JES hires. It's funny, but I haven't run into JES teachers in Sendai (or if I have, I am not aware they are with JES) Shocked

I did a resubmission. I just put in the body of the e-mail why I was resubmitting the application and was just honest about it, like how things have changed since originally submitting it almost a month ago.

I hope I get some brownie points for that. The main thing I changed, though, was my essay and added in that I was currently an ESL Volunteer Teacher.

Well, if they don't give you brownie points, then SHAME on them! It sounds as if you are doing your best to sell JES your talents Very Happy

I didn't put in the body of the e-mail that I am doing the Volunteer ESL stuff, just that I changed up my essay.

Anywho, like you said, I am trying to play up my strengths and all that, but I just hope that I'm not being a nuisance to them, which is why I was hesitant to resubmit it in the first place.

I really am interested in JES, though. I hope I do manage to get contacted for an interview. I wonder how they actually do them or what's expected. How does one do a phone interview or a skype interview anyway? Seems it'd be difficult to figure all that's needed just through a phone interview.
