Trying to use two passports in any county is likely to get you into trouble.

I wouldn't try the second passport thing. It would have worked a few years ago, but things have changed. Now they will have your fingerprints and your retinal scan on file. You could end up in jail. Shocked

Even when I first came here in 1970, there was a system of entry stamps, Iqamas and exit visas. Having a second passport which had no KSA entry stamp would not help you to get out, then or now.

If you think you won't like it here - do not come. Easy.

I am rethinking KSA. Its kinda scary that you can only leave with your employers permission.

I guess its a gamble..if you get a bad employer you could be really bleeped. Is bell really that bad, that they won't allow you to leave?

Is the school or the recruiter your sponser? If I get a job with bell, are they my sponser, or KSU?

I can deal with alot of stuff if the money is good, but if the housing is bad, for me, that would make the situation intolerable.

Does anyone happen to know how many ppl (women) share an apt?

Well, as Cleopatra posted, it's not exactly the Hotel California, where "you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave."
In all my time there (nineteen years total), I never heard of anyone having a problem in that regard (although I did know a very few who used the "Bahrain trip" thing to do a runner.)

In the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman, you can leave when you wish without an exit visa. Try those places if you have doubts.

I believe that Qatar requires exit visas. And in Kuwait, KU required exit visas when I was there and someone said that they still do (though it was someone that I didn't know). But, you do keep your passports.

Qatar requires an exit visa. In all the years I have been in KSA I have never seen anyone who experoenced real problems in leaving when they wanted to.

But, we have had tales of woe here over the years. Perhaps one or two a year of people not being able to leave for family emergencies... or having to pay their employer ridiculously large bribes to provide the exit visa and passport.

So, I wouldn't say that it doesn't happen, but it isn't common.
